The once-powerful Detroit
Community girls basketball team has become the latest metro Detroit
High School to be victimized by the pathetic between-season transfers
from one power to another.
To its credit, Salem took
advantage of a short-handed Community roster, which lost its top three
players to Inkster, by pounding the Hurricanes, 55-8, Friday night.
The Rocks improved to 2-2 thanks in large part to a balanced
attack that saw nine of its 10 players score.
Senior captains Brett deBear and Sara Stone led the winners'
scoring attack with 12 points each. Breanne Beaver added 10, Lily
Burnstein added six and Tabitha Mann chipped in with five.
The Rocks will return to action Thursday against Plymouth.
