2009 D1 Swimming & Diving State Meet

Salem strokes to 19th place
finish at Division 1 state meet

  Led by the potent one-two punch of Emily Nelson and Lauren Seroka, Salem's swimming and diving team placed 19th at this past weekend's Division 1 state meet at the Holland Aquatic Center.

  Salem notched 33 points. Saline won the state title with 244 points.

  Nelson earned All-State honors by placing sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.72.

  Seroka earned points in a pair of individual events, touching ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:05.27) and 11th in the 200 free (1:56.12).

  Salem's Abby Aumiller earned 14th-place points in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.58.

  The Rocks' 200 medley relay contingent placed 16th in 1:54.83 while their 400 freestyle team of Irene Li, Aumiller, Nelson and Seroka was 18th in 3:46.14.
