Salem's lacrosse team came
oh-so-close to climbing back to the .500 mark Wednesday night
before falling to Huron Valley Lakeland, 8-6, in a tense, well-played
lacrosse match.
The Rocks outshot Lakeland, 25-21, but couldn't find the net
quite enough.
Salem slipped to 1-3 on the season despite a strong effort from
Nick Gianini, who registered two goals and four ground balls.
Also netting goals for the Rocks were Mason Amin, Steve Haburne,
Connor Berlin and Luke Johnson, who also recorded five ground balls.
Picking up assists for the Rocks were Dylan Hatcher, Garrett
Berg (two) and Berlin (two).
Defensively, Salem was paced by Blake Abbey, who secured seven
ground balls, Anthony Portelli, who scooped up six grounders and Ryan
Blakey, who had five.
Goalie Alex Gravlin notched eight saves.
