Livonia Churchill distance phenom Sara Kroll was a one-person point machine at Friday's KLAA Kensington Conference girls track-and-field meet at Novi High School.

Kroll had a hand in accumulating 36 points -- more than seven teams that competed -- to lead the Chargers to the title.

Churchill finished with 134 points to out-distance runner-up Novi (109). Northville (103.5), Livonia Franklin (71.5) and Westland John Glenn (64) rounded out the top five spots.

Plymouth was the top PCEP team, earning 32 points to tie for seventh with South Lyon. Ninth-place Canton racked up 31 points while Salem finished 11th with 18.

"We're so young, this was a great learning experience for our girls," said Plymouth coach Ricky Styes. "It gave our runners a great feel of what it takes to do well. Hopefully, in a year or two, we're one of the top contenders."

Among the standouts for the Wildcats was freshman Madi Lewis, who placed third in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the open 200.  Plymouth's Reagan Engstrom placed fourth in the pole vault while Becka Knox was fifth in the long jump.

Lindsay Lipa had an outstanding day for Canton, placing fourth in the high jump and third in the open 100. Teammate Bianca Kubicki also shined, taking  second in the 3,200-meter run.

Salem was led by Kristina Klusek, who placed third in the long jump, and Khyli Ray, who was fifth in the 200.
